The Grass Whisperer

in grasslands we trust.

“Linger Grazing: Observing the little things and learning how they effect the BIG things on a journey to optimize happiness” -Troy Bishopp

Thanks for landing on my page. Welcome to my body of ongoing work and context. I’m Troy Bishopp, aka The Grass Whisperer, borne out of a trip to Washington, D.C and too much ice-cream. I’m authentically real in this space of pasture based agriculture. I live in the shadow of agriculture’s backstory and the burden to share the truth.

The Grass Whisperer Story

I can only guess what brought you here. You mistook it for a marijuana search engine, you wanted to know more about grazing/grasslands, you might want me to speak at an event, you need a field visit to discuss your farm strategies, you were intrigued by a back story or you read something I wrote about farming, life and the pursuit of asking why.

If you linger long enough for Google analytics to count you, you’ll learn more about me, my body of work, life hacks, what folks say about me (in public) and possibly laugh, tear-up or get pissed from my cow-pie commentary. If you can stomach anything on here and feel compelled to support my farm family, grandchildren and I, we gotta a place you can do that too.

Troy, you’re a star my friend. We’re all better eaters because of you. Keep the ovens hot and keep writing, you’re incredible.

Thank you for your ruminations and sharing your changing responses to things. “What is the true meaning of grazing” piece at OnPasture.com is one of the most moving pieces of “farming” writing I have ever read. (It’s really Socrates’ dictum–“the unexamined life is not worth living”–accepted and applied.

Troy has been a great asset to the farming community of this area and a dedicated voice. His one-on-one approach has not only kept me farming, but has made it profitable. It has afforded me the time to spend with my family, and has made farming enjoyable.
